AL-ARAF · 76 verses · AL-ARAF 7:171 -> AL-ANFAL 8:40
171 And [mention] when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a dark cloud and they were certain that it would fall upon them, [and Allah said], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that you might fear Allah ." Wa 'Idh Nataqnā Al-Jabala Fawqahum Ka'annahu Žullatun Wa Žannū 'Annahu Wāqi`un Bihim Khudhū Mā 'Ātaynākum Biqūwatin Wa Adhkurū Mā Fīhi La`allakum Tattaqūna
172 And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware." وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَآ ۛ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ Wa 'Idh 'Akhadha Rabbuka Min Banī 'Ādama Min Žuhūrihim Dhurrīyatahum Wa 'Ash/hadahum `Alá 'Anfusihim 'Alastu Birabbikum Qālū Balá Shahidnā 'An Taqūlū Yawma Al-Qiyāmati 'Innā Kunnā `An Hādhā Ghāfilīna
173 Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"
174 And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return. Wa Kadhalika Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Wa La`allahum Yarji`ūna
175 And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators. Wa Atlu `Alayhim Naba'a Al-Ladhī 'Ātaynāhu 'Āyātinā Fānsalakha Minhā Fa'atba`ahu Ash-Shayţānu Fakāna Mina Al-Ghāwīna
176 And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought. وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ۚ ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ۚ فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ Wa Law Shi'nā Larafa`nāhu Bihā Wa Lakinnahu 'Akhlada 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Wa Attaba`a Hawāhu Famathaluhu Kamathali Al-Kalbi 'In Taĥmil `Alayhi Yalhath 'Aw Tatruk/hu Yalhath Dhālika Mathalu Al-Qawmi Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Fāqşuşi Al-Qaşaşa La`allahum Yatafakkarūna
177 How evil an example [is that of] the people who denied Our signs and used to wrong themselves. Sā'a Mathalāan Al-Qawmu Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa 'Anfusahum Kānū Yažlimūna
178 Whoever Allah guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - it is those who are the losers. Man Yahdi Allāhu Fahuwa Al-Muhtadī Wa Man Yuđlil Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna
179 And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌۭ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌۭ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌۭ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ Wa Laqad Dhara'nā Lijahannama Kathīrāan Mina Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi Lahum Qulūbun Lā Yafqahūna Bihā Wa Lahum 'A`yunun Lā Yubşirūna Bihā Wa Lahum 'Ādhānun Lā Yasma`ūna Bihā 'Ūlā'ika Kāl'an`āmi Bal Hum 'Ađallu 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Ghāfilūna
180 And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing. Wa Lillahi Al-'Asmā'u Al-Ĥusná Fād`ūhu Bihā Wa Dharū Al-Ladhīna Yulĥidūna Fī 'Asmā'ihi Sayujzawna Mā Kānū Ya`malūna
181 And among those We created is a community which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice. Wa Mimman Khalaqnā 'Ummatun Yahdūna Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Bihi Ya`dilūna
182 But those who deny Our signs - We will progressively lead them [to destruction] from where they do not know. Wa Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Sanastadrijuhum Min Ĥaythu Lā Ya`lamūna
183 And I will give them time. Indeed, my plan is firm. Wa 'Umlī Lahum 'Inna Kaydī Matīnun
184 Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no madness. He is not but a clear warner.
185 Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe? أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍۢ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ 'Awalam Yanžurū Fī Malakūti As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Khalaqa Allāhu Min Shay'in Wa 'An `Asá 'An Yakūna Qadi Aqtaraba 'Ajaluhum Fabi'ayyi Ĥadīthin Ba`dahu Yu'uminūna
186 Whoever Allah sends astray - there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly. Man Yuđlili Allāhu Falā Hādiya Lahu Wa Yadharuhum Fī Ţughyānihim Ya`mahūna
187 They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah , but most of the people do not know."
188 Say, "I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe." قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًۭا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُ ۚ إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ وَبَشِيرٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ Qul Lā 'Amliku Linafsī Naf`āan Wa Lā Đarrāan 'Illā Mā Shā'a Allāhu Wa Law Kuntu 'A`lamu Al-Ghayba Lāstakthartu Mina Al-Khayri Wa Mā Massaniya As-Sū'u 'In 'Anā 'Illā Nadhīrun Wa Bashīrun Liqawmin Yu'uminūna
189 It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah , their Lord, "If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful." ۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًۭا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَٰلِحًۭا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Min Nafsin Wāĥidatin Wa Ja`ala Minhā Zawjahā Liyaskuna 'Ilayhā Falammā Taghashāhā Ĥamalat Ĥamlāan Khafīfāan Famarrat Bihi Falammā 'Athqalat Da`awā Allāha Rabbahumā La'in 'Ātaytanā Şāliĥāan Lanakūnanna Mina Ash-Shākirīna
190 But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. Falammā 'Ātāhumā Şāliĥāan Ja`alā Lahu Shurakā'a Fīmā 'Ātāhumā Fata`ālá Allāhu `Ammā Yushrikūna
191 Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created?
192 And the false deities are unable to [give] them help, nor can they help themselves. Wa Lā Yastaţī`ūna Lahum Naşrāan Wa Lā 'Anfusahum Yanşurūna
193 And if you [believers] invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you invite them or you are silent. Wa 'In Tad`ūhum 'Ilá Al-Hudá Lā Yattabi`ūkum Sawā'un `Alaykum 'Ada`awtumūhum 'Am 'Antum Şāmitūna
194 Indeed, those you [polytheists] call upon besides Allah are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful. إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖ فَٱدْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūni Allāhi `Ibādun 'Amthālukum Fād`ūhum Falyastajībū Lakum 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
195 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌۭ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍۢ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌۭ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌۭ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۗ قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ 'Alahum 'Arjulun Yamshūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'Aydin Yabţishūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'A`yunun Yubşirūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'Ādhānun Yasma`ūna Bihā Quli Ad`ū Shurakā'akum Thumma Kīdūni Falā Tunžirūni
196 Indeed, my protector is Allah , who has sent down the Book; and He is an ally to the righteous.
197 And those you call upon besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves." Wa Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūnihi Lā Yastaţī`ūna Naşrakum Wa Lā 'Anfusahum Yanşurūna
198 And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking at you while they do not see. Wa 'In Tad`ūhum 'Ilá Al-Hudá Lā Yasma`ū Wa Tarāhum Yanžurūna 'Ilayka Wa Hum Lā Yubşirūna
199 Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant. Khudhi Al-`Afwa Wa 'Mur Bil-`Urfi Wa 'A`riđ `Ani Al-Jāhilīna
200 And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah . Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing. Wa 'Immā Yanzaghannaka Mina Ash-Shayţāni Nazghun Fāsta`idh Billāhi 'Innahu Samī`un `Alīmun
201 Indeed, those who fear Allah - when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight.
202 But their brothers - the devils increase them in error; then they do not stop short. Wa 'Ikhwānuhum Yamuddūnahum Fī Al-Ghayyi Thumma Lā Yuqşirūna
203 And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."
204 So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy. Wa 'Idhā Quri'a Al-Qur'ānu Fāstami`ū Lahu Wa 'Anşitū La`allakum Turĥamūna
205 And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. Wa Adhkur Rabbaka Fī Nafsika Tađarru`āan Wa Khīfatan Wa Dūna Al-Jahri Mina Al-Qawli Bil-Ghudūwi Wa Al-'Āşāli Wa Lā Takun Mina Al-Ghāfilīna
206 Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate. إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ 'Inna Al-Ladhīna `Inda Rabbika Lā Yastakbirūna `An `Ibādatihi Wa Yusabbiĥūnahu Wa Lahu Yasjudūna
1 They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers. Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-'Anfāl Quli Al-'Anfāli Lillāhi Wa Ar-Rasūli Fa Attaqū Allāha Wa 'Aşliĥū Dhāta Baynikum Wa 'Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna
2 The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely - إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًۭا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ 'Innamā Al-Mu'uminūna Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Dhukira Allāhu Wajilat Qulūbuhum Wa 'Idhā Tuliyat `Alayhim 'Āyātuhu Zādat/hum 'Īmānāan Wa `Alá Rabbihim Yatawakkalūna
3 The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Mimmā Razaqnāhum Yunfiqūna
4 Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision.
5 [It is] just as when your Lord brought you out of your home [for the battle of Badr] in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers were unwilling, Kamā 'Akhrajaka Rabbuka Min Baytika Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inna Farīqāan Mina Al-Mu'uminīna Lakārihūna
6 Arguing with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death while they were looking on. Yujādilūnaka Fī Al-Ĥaqqi Ba`damā Tabayyana Ka'annamā Yusāqūna 'Ilá Al-Mawti Wa Hum Yanžurūna
7 [Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِحْدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُحِقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ Wa 'Idh Ya`idukumu Allāhu 'Iĥdá Aţ-Ţā'ifatayni 'Annahā Lakum Wa Tawaddūna 'Anna Ghayra Dhāti Ash-Shawkati Takūnu Lakum Wa Yurīdu Allāhu 'An Yuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Bikalimātihi Wa Yaqţa`a Dābira Al-Kāfirīna
8 That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it. Liyuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Yubţila Al-Bāţila Wa Law Kariha Al-Mujrimūna
9 [Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."
10 And Allah made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from Allah . Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. Wa Mā Ja`alahu Allāhu 'Illā Bushrá Wa Litaţma'inna Bihi Qulūbukum Wa Mā An-Naşru 'Illā Min `Indi Allāhi 'Inna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun
11 [Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet. إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةًۭ مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلْأَقْدَامَ 'Idh Yughashīkumu An-Nu`āsa 'Amanatan Minhu Wa Yunazzilu `Alaykum Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Liyuţahhirakum Bihi Wa Yudh/hiba `Ankum Rijza Ash-Shayţāni Wa Liyarbiţa `Alá Qulūbikum Wa Yuthabbita Bihi Al-'Aqdāma
12 [Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip." إِذْ يُوحِى رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّى مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ سَأُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَٱضْرِبُوا۟ فَوْقَ ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ وَٱضْرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍۢ 'Idh Yūĥī Rabbuka 'Ilá Al-Malā'ikati 'Annī Ma`akum Fathabbitū Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Sa'ulqī Fī Qulūbi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Ar-Ru`ba Fāđribū Fawqa Al-'A`nāqi Wa Ađribū Minhum Kulla Banānin
13 That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger - indeed, Allah is severe in penalty. Dhālika Bi'annahum Shāqqū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Man Yushāqiqi Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Fa'inna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi
14 "That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire. Dhālikum Fadhūqūhu Wa 'Anna Lilkāfirīna `Adhāba An-Nāri
15 O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight]. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Idhā Laqītumu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Zaĥfāan Falā Tuwallūhumu Al-'Adbāra
16 And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah , and his refuge is Hell - and wretched is the destination. وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًۭا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍۢ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ Wa Man Yuwallihim Yawma'idhin Duburahu 'Illā Mutaĥarrifāan Liqitālin 'Aw Mutaĥayyizāan 'Ilá Fi'atin Faqad Bā'a Bighađabin Mina Allāhi Wa Ma'wāhu Jahannamu Wa Bi'sa Al-Maşīru
17 And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَتَلَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَمَىٰ ۚ وَلِيُبْلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلَآءً حَسَنًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ Falam Taqtulūhum Wa Lakinna Allāha Qatalahum Wa Mā Ramayta 'Idh Ramayta Wa Lakinna Allāha Ramá Wa Liyubliya Al-Mu'uminīna Minhu Balā'an Ĥasanāan 'Inna Allāha Samī`un `Alīmun
18 That [is so], and [also] that Allah will weaken the plot of the disbelievers. Dhālikum Wa 'Anna Allāha Mūhinu Kaydi Al-Kāfirīna
19 If you [disbelievers] seek the victory - the defeat has come to you. And if you desist [from hostilities], it is best for you; but if you return [to war], We will return, and never will you be availed by your [large] company at all, even if it should increase; and [that is] because Allah is with the believers. إِن تَسْتَفْتِحُوا۟ فَقَدْ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلْفَتْحُ ۖ وَإِن تَنتَهُوا۟ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۖ وَإِن تَعُودُوا۟ نَعُدْ وَلَن تُغْنِىَ عَنكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَوْ كَثُرَتْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 'In Tastaftiĥū Faqad Jā'akumu Al-Fatĥu Wa 'In Tantahū Fahuwa Khayrun Lakum Wa 'In Ta`ūdū Na`ud Wa Lan Tughniya `Ankum Fi'atukum Shay'āan Wa Law Kathurat Wa 'Anna Allāha Ma`a Al-Mu'uminīna
20 O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Lā Tawallaw `Anhu Wa 'Antum Tasma`ūna
21 And do not be like those who say, "We have heard," while they do not hear. Wa Lā Takūnū Kālladhīna Qālū Sami`nā Wa Hum Lā Yasma`ūna
22 Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason.
23 Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing. Wa Law `Alima Allāhu Fīhim Khayrāan La'asma`ahum Wa Law 'Asma`ahum Latawallaw Wa Hum Mu`riđūna
24 O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered. يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَأَنَّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Astajībū Lillāhi Wa Lilrrasūli 'Idhā Da`ākum Limā Yuĥyīkum Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Yaĥūlu Bayna Al-Mar'i Wa Qalbihi Wa 'Annahu 'Ilayhi Tuĥsharūna
25 And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty. Wa Attaqū Fitnatan Lā Tuşībanna Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Minkum Khāşşatan Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi
26 And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful. وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ أَنتُمْ قَلِيلٌۭ مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصْرِهِۦ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ Wa Adhkurū 'Idh 'Antum Qalīlun Mustađ`afūna Fī Al-'Arđi Takhāfūna 'An Yatakhaţţafakumu An-Nāsu Fa'āwākum Wa 'Ayyadakum Binaşrihi Wa Razaqakum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti La`allakum Tashkurūna
27 O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Takhūnū Allāha Wa Ar-Rasūla Wa Takhūnū 'Amānātikum Wa 'Antum Ta`lamūna
28 And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward. Wa A`lamū 'Annamā 'Amwālukum Wa 'Awlādukum Fitnatun Wa 'Anna Allāha `Indahu 'Ajrun `Ažīmun
29 O you who have believed, if you fear Allah , He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'In Tattaqū Allāha Yaj`al Lakum Furqānāan Wa Yukaffir `Ankum Sayyi'ātikum Wa Yaghfir Lakum Wa Allāhu Dhū Al-Fađli Al-`Ažīmi
30 And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners. Wa 'Idh Yamkuru Bika Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Liyuthbitūka 'Aw Yaqtulūka 'Aw Yukhrijūka Wa Yamkurūna Wa Yamkuru Allāhu Wa Allāhu Khayru Al-Mākirīna
31 And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples." Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Qālū Qad Sami`nā Law Nashā'u Laqulnā Mithla Hādhā 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna
32 And [remember] when they said, "O Allah , if this should be the truth from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring us a painful punishment." Wa 'Idh Qālū Al-Lahumma 'In Kāna Hādhā Huwa Al-Ĥaqqa Min `Indika Fa'amţir `Alaynā Ĥijāratan Mina As-Samā'i 'Aw A'tinā Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin
33 But Allah would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness. Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Liyu`adhibahum Wa 'Anta Fīhim Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Mu`adhibahum Wa Hum Yastaghfirūna
34 But why should Allah not punish them while they obstruct [people] from al-Masjid al- Haram and they were not [fit to be] its guardians? Its [true] guardians are not but the righteous, but most of them do not know. وَمَا لَهُمْ أَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ Wa Mā Lahum 'Allā Yu`adhibahumu Allāhu Wa Hum Yaşuddūna `Ani Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa Mā Kānū 'Awliyā'ahu 'In 'Awliyā'uuhu 'Illā Al-Muttaqūna Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna
35 And their prayer at the House was not except whistling and handclapping. So taste the punishment for what you disbelieved. Wa Mā Kāna Şalātuhum `Inda Al-Bayti 'Illā Mukā'an Wa Taşdiyatan Fadhūqū Al-`Adhāba Bimā Kuntum Takfurūna
36 Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered. إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةًۭ ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَ 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yunfiqūna 'Amwālahum Liyaşuddū `An Sabīli Allāhi Fasayunfiqūnahā Thumma Takūnu `Alayhim Ĥasratan Thumma Yughlabūna Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Ilá Jahannama Yuĥsharūna
37 [This is] so that Allah may distinguish the wicked from the good and place the wicked some of them upon others and heap them all together and put them into Hell. It is those who are the losers. Liyamīza Allāhu Al-Khabītha Mina Aţ-Ţayyibi Wa Yaj`ala Al-Khabītha Ba`đahu `Alá Ba`đin Fayarkumahu Jamī`āan Fayaj`alahu Fī Jahannama 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna
38 Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place. Qul Lilladhīna Kafarū 'In Yantahū Yughfar Lahum Mā Qad Salafa Wa 'In Ya`ūdū Faqad Mađat Sunnatu Al-'Awwalīna
39 And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah . And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do. Wa Qātilūhum Ĥattá Lā Takūna Fitnatun Wa Yakūna Ad-Dīnu Kulluhu Lillāhi Fa'ini Antahaw Fa'inna Allāha Bimā Ya`malūna Başīrun
40 But if they turn away - then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper. Wa 'In Tawallaw Fā`lamū 'Anna Allāha Mawlākum Ni`ma Al-Mawlá Wa Ni`ma An-Naşīru
